WHY DO I NEED A CD, AND WHAT DOES A CD DO?

A CD helps to set the vision for the brand and ensure consistency in the way a brand shows up. They can help direct and overlook your internal design team or the agency you hired. They'll see things that you might not see, that are crucial for your brand image and credibility. They are basically your brand’s mom and therapist, in one person.
These old-school constructs don’t always fit the modern business. Keeping someone full-time keeps your brand consistent, but it might not be cost-effective for the amount of work you need. Freelancers can offer more occasional services, but they can’t guarantee their availability every time you need them, which can easily lead to an inconsistent brand image (too many cooks if you may) and lots of onboarding, that no one likes to do.
